DIATOMACEOUS EARTH
Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a natural product made up of fossilized remains of tiny, aquatic organisms called diatoms. This Silica is an essential mineral for the body to build strong bones, hair, nails, and teeth and is needed to carry calcium into various parts of the body. It naturally eliminates free radicals, viruses, and other harmful organisms by binding to them and drying them out. It also can improve the body’s use of calcium and improve tooth mineralization. Its mildly abrasive quality makes DE the best natural ingredient for clean, smooth teeth.
XYLITOL
Being a sugar alcohol, Xylitol has a unique quality that makes it a good sweetener for toothpaste. Sugar alcohols are attractive to bacteria. But they can’t metabolize them, so they die after consuming them. Sugar alcohols also support re-mineralization.
BICARBONATE OF SODA
Bicarbonate of Soda acts as an ideal mild abrasive, which dissolves, leaving no grit behind. It is alkaline, so it has the added benefit of helping to neutralize excess acid in the mouth.
HIMALAYAN ROCK SALT
Pink Himalayan rock salt contains over 84 minerals and trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, and iron.
COCONUT OIL - Organic, cold-pressed, and unrefined
This amazing substance may be the most versatile food and health aid on the planet. In toothpaste, it gives a smooth mouthfeel, holds other stuff together, and helps kill nasty microorganisms — including candida and tooth decay bacteria — while supporting beneficial ones.
PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
Peppermint Essential oil, a natural antiseptic, provides a familiar natural flavour to this toothpaste, whilst leaving you with that fresh breath feeling.
- Vegan
- Fluoride free
- 50 ML Aluminium, re-usable screw top jar
USAGE
As a Toothpaste
Coconut oil has one odd characteristic: it melts at about 76 degrees Fahrenheit, which means your toothpaste will be very stiff in cool conditions and runny and prone to separating if it gets warmer than 75 F. This changeability doesn’t affect how well your toothpaste works. But it is why this toothpaste is contained in a jar. This way you can scoop it out when very firm or dip your brush in it if it liquefies (and re-mix it if it separates). Brush teeth, gums, and tongue for 2 minutes. Rinse with clean water and spit out.
Oil Pulling. Swish a small blob of paste through your mouth for at least 5 minutes (whilst in the shower.) Spit out and do not rinse. Try not to eat or drink for at least half an hour to assist with remineralisation of teeth and destruction of harmful plaque and bacteria.
